Our team consists of three licensed real estate agents, Kathleen Colbert; Joel Young; and Andrea Young. Our goal is to provide outstanding service to every one of our clients 100% of the time. A large part of our business comes from repeat and referral business, and we strive to make every client a client for life.
Kathleen Colbert, a top sales executive with Prudential California Realtys San Diego Central Office, has specialized in the marketing and sale of single family residences, condominiums, townhomes, and 2 - 4 unit properties throughout San Diego County for over 22 years. Kathleen always strives for the same result - client satisfaction - while representing a diverse clientele ranging from first time buyers to sophisticated professionals. "I am proactive in representing my clients interests", says Kathleen. "Buying and selling a home is serious business, and in todays active market, you have to be ready to move!" With her "can do" approach to meeting and exceeding her clients expectations in real estate, Kathleen has earned the title of "Agent in Action." Kathleen is a member of the prestigious Chairmans Circle - Gold, Prudentials highest award level, which is reserved for the top 2% of agents nationwide. Our Team was among the top 50 out of over 1500 Prudential California Realty agents in San Diego County in sales volume and units sold in the first half of 2010. In addition, we were #2 in sales volume and #3 in units out of over 100 agents in the San Diego Central Office. Highly motivated and energetic, Kathleen has sold over $215 Million in real estate during her successful career, with over 650 successful transactions. She enjoys the challenge of negotiating a real estate transaction to help buyers and sellers achieve their highest real estate goals.
Kathleen has been in sales since 1967. As an elementary and special education teacher, Kathleen sold education to children and parents. After working in several marketing and sales positions, Kathleen found her niche in the world of real estate beginning in 1988. She was "Rookie of the Year" in her office in that year. Kathleen received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland and her Masters Degree in Learning Disabilities from the University of Northern Colorado.
Although she spends long hours on real estate, Kathleen has many outside activities as well. She is an avid tennis player and bicyclist as well as an exercise fanatic. She also serves as a "Rolling Reader" at a local elementary school. She especially enjoys working with children, as she was an elementary school teacher before beginning her career in real estate.
Kathleen has been assisted by her husband and fellow agent, Joel Young for over 14 years. Joel serves the team as Listing Coordinator, and handles many of the technical aspects of real estate. He assists our clients in negotiating physical inspection agreements, and he monitors the progress of escrows to insure their successful conclusion. Joel's background is as an electrical engineer with B.S, M.S., and Ph.D. degrees. He designed sonar systems for Navy applications for many years.
The Team is now enhanced by Agent, Andrea Young. Andrea is a graduate of Granite Hills High School, UCSD, Pt. Loma Nazarene University, and National University with a Masters degree in educational technology. She has been a social science teacher at West Hills High School for over 14 years. In addition, she has coached girls soccer for many years at both the high school and club levels.
